Results for Week One are In!

April 19, 2010

The numbers for the energy consumption of Hope, Machado, Slater, and Poland have been crunched for the first full week of the Dorm Energy Competition.  They’re not bad, but they’re not great either.  Take a look for yourself:

Table 1:

(note: negative % reduction represents an increase in energy use)

Chart 1:

As you can see, Hope is the only residence hall that reduced its energy consumption last week (3%), while Slater’s remained constant, and Machado and Poland’s consumption actually increased by 2 and 3%, respectively.  So congratulations to Hope for starting off the competition in the right direction!  And if you live in Machado, Poland, or Slater you’ve got some catching up to do.  Luckily it’s not too late to ramp up your level of participation and cruise into first place.  Rally your friends and floor mates and start saving!
