What You Waste When You’re Wasted: “Beeramid” Raises Awareness about Aluminum Waste

Reusable cups > Aluminum Cans > Plastic Cups (and Gretchen and Kai love recycling)

Last week EcoReps assembled this pyramid of beer cans we collected from various campus trash rooms to raise awareness about party waste.  We constructed this installation, entitled What You Waste When You’re Wasted, on Wriston Quad in time for Thursday night’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.  Along with the ‘beeramid’ we included several posters with information about the importance of recycling beverage containers.  All in all, the structure was 10 layers or about 4 and a half feet tall and was built using over 400 cans.
