About

Eco Reps is a student outreach and environmental activism group at Brown University sponsored by the Brown Department of Facilities Management.  We try to capitalize and interface with the many other environmental groups on camps while engaging the segment of the Brown community for whom environmental issues are not a top priority.  By increasing awareness of how personal actions impact the environment and educating the Brown community on why these issues are important, we hope to inspire informed lifestyle and personal behavior changes.

Our mission is:

To foster a community of environmental stewards at Brown University.

We meet every Sunday night during emPower from 8:50 to 10 PM in Wilson Hall room 102.  We hope you will come join our efforts to make Brown green!

If you have any further questions please contact EcoReps Coordinator Gretchen Gerlach (gretchen_grelach AT brown.edu)

i’ve found that a lot of brown students are aware of turning off lights whenever they’re not in the room, but LOTS of people leave faucets running when they’re brushing their teeth, putting on makeup, or other things that don’t require any water. there might not be a big water shortage in RI, but fresh water still shouldn’t be wasted. i’m kind of sad there’s such a small emphasis on conserving purified water.

      Hi Alice!

This year EcoReps has a Green Team entirely devoted to water conservation! They are hoping to put up signs on sinks around campus reminding people not to waste water! Come check it out at our next planning meeting on Tuesday 9/28 from 9-10pm in J. Walter Wilson 402!

Hey Brown! I’m Mark from the band, Melodeego, and we’ve built ourselves a bicycle powered sound system, allowing us to play full rock shows using no coal, gas, or oil, but PEOPLE POWER instead! We want to bring it out on the road, and help other people discover the powerful, grassroots energy solutions they themselves can create! Wanna help us do this? We have a kickstarter, and if you have $1 to give to it, that’d be awesome! We also need help spreading the word, so anyone you can tell about this, or any networks you can share it on is much appreciated! Thanks so, much, and I hope we can come visit y’all on our travels!
